Year 2013 is leaving us.
Before entering year 2014, we should pause at the first thought and intention.
Stop, take a step back, think and ponder.
Bring ourself to account and ask questions:
- Are our daily transactions compliant with Sharia?
- Did we pay zakat?
- Did we know about lawful and unlawful matters in finance?
- For more specific, did we know the differences between Islamic banking and conventional?
- Why should we support Islamic banking (without denying that Islamic banking should ‘support’ Muslims too)?
‘Umar ibn al-Khattab (radiallaahu ‘anhu) said:
“Bring yourself to account before you are taken to account. Weigh your deeds before your deeds are weighed.”
May Allah help us. Ameen.
